Many parents and children in Arizona are facing the struggle of homeschooling. Luckily, there are plenty of educational activities around the Sky Crossing community in Phoenix for children and parents to enjoy!
Remember – always check ahead of time to make sure that these places are open or are still offering their virtual services amidst the pandemic.
OdySea Aquarium
The aquarium is right off the 101 freeway and Via De Ventura, which is not a far drive from the Sky Crossing community.
OdySea Aquarium is the largest marine aquarium in the southwest with over 50 exhibits and 30,000 animals in an indoor, 200,000 square foot building. Animal exhibits include penguins, sharks, stingrays, and even a revolving aquarium experience.
This is one of the best entertainment options for kids and adults, plus both of you can learn a lot about all of the animals.
The Phoenix Zoo
The Phoenix Zoo is a little bit farther of a drive but is easy to get to by freeway. It has been around since 1962 and is 125 acres complete with walking trails and thousands of different types of species.
Even though walking around the zoo is unavailable at the moment, they are currently offering Cruise the Zoo, a cool experience where you can drive through the zoo and still learn about the animals such as flamingos and elephants.
The Children’s Museum of Phoenix
Located in downtown Phoenix, the Children’s Museum of Phoenix is currently closed. However, they have taken their science activities to the web!
It is not quite the same as enjoying all of the cool hands-on exhibits the museum usually offers, but your child can still participate in fun and exciting science projects.
Check their website to learn more about their virtual packages.
It can be a difficult time for a parent and child relationship, hopefully these fun activities can ease the tension, while kids can still learn.
